Trainings/Seminars
Elisabeth Madden frequently presents interactive sexual harassment prevention trainings to supervisors, as mandated by the State of California, at the employer’s location. ROBERT T. LYNCH
Of Counsel
In a legal career that spans more than 55 years, Robert T. Lynch has served as lead trial counsel in over 200 cases tried to jury verdicts. A true one-of-a-kind, Mr. Lynch has tried cases in the areas of product liability, professional negligence, catastrophic personal injury, and business disputes.
As a proud native San Franciscan, Mr. Lynch earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of San Francisco (B.S. 1960, J.D., 1963). He is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Board of Trial Advocates, a Founding Fellow of the Edward J. McFetridge American Inn of Court, a member and past board member of the Defense Research Institute, a fellow with the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, a Diplomat of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys, and an instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He has lectured on trial practice before several local and national organizations. Additionally, he is Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
In 1978, Mr. Lynch founded the law firm of Lynch, Gilardi & Grummer, where he practiced for more than 40 years. In 2018, Mr. Lynch continued to provide his legal expertise defending healthcare providers at the Law Offices of Madden & Lynch PC where he maintains a close professional relationship with the firm.
Mr. Lynch also brings his vast experience and gravitas to his work as a mediator and as an arbitrator. His expansive trial and mediation experience enables him to guide parties to a realistic, reasoned, and cost-effective resolution to their case. Mr. Lynch serves on the panel of mediators for the San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Contra Costa Superior Courts. He has acted as a settlement judge for the San Francisco and Marin County Superior Courts. Mr. Lynch has also served as Judge Pro Tem for the San Francisco Superior Court.
Elisabeth A. Madden
Attorney at Law
For more than thirty years, Ms. Madden has successfully represented her clients in all aspects of civil litigation. As a seasoned and successful trial lawyer, Ms. Madden’s practice has been primarily dedicated to defending healthcare providers accused of professional negligence and representing employers engaged in workplace disputes, including claims of harassment, discrimination, or wrongful termination.
Ms. Madden earned her Juris Doctorate from the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, in 1987. Thereafter, she joined Lynch, Gilardi & Grummer where she became a partner in 1995. In 2018, Ms. Madden founded the Law Offices of Madden & Lynch PC. She is admitted to practice law in the State of California, the United States District Court, Northern District of California, Eastern District of California and the Southern District of California. Ms. Madden is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
As an advocate for health care professionals, Ms. Madden is Board-certified by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. She has presented risk-management seminars at hospitals, clinics, and professional medical conferences. Her practice includes representing physicians, surgeons, nurses, and chiropractors in both the courts and before the state licensing boards. Her trial work on behalf of certified flight-care nurses was instrumental in leading to the legislative expansion of statutory immunities for these emergency medical personnel.
As part of her employment law practice, Ms. Madden advises her clients on legal compliance in hiring, disciplinary, leave of absence issues and termination practices. She also conducts workplace investigations for employers who are presented with employee complaints. She has successfully represented employers responding to complaints filed with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, and in both the state and federal courts. She has presented numerous seminars for human resources departments and corporate management groups in both the private and non-profit sectors. A featured writer, her articles have appeared in numerous legal publications, including The Job Description (published by the Employment Committee of the Defense Research Institute), The Pacific Law Journal, and The San Francisco Daily Journal. She has also served as a mediator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Ms. Madden is a member of the San Francisco Bar Association and the Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California. Ms. Madden’s history of philanthropic work includes serving on the Bar Association’s Aids Legal Referral Panel, and proudly serving for over twelve years on the Board of Directors of the Felton Institute, a historic non-profit social-service provider dedicated to improving the lives of the disadvantaged in our Bay Area communities.
